A year of Swedish landscapes
The first thing you see when you arrive in Växjö is the Cathedral. The nicest aspect of the Church is that while walking in the city center you can always see a little part of the Church!
At 200 meters from our house, there is this amazing lake called Södra Bergundasjön. I have spent a lot of time admiring the sunset in front of the lake with a beer in my hands. Over the years the sunset has had a drastic change of time: if in December it was around 15 now we can barely see the dark in the sky!
Speaking about Södra Bergundasjön, with the other volunteers we decided to do the turn of the lake, which is approximately 13 kilometers (and not 30, as Gaia understood initially), once per season. We ended up doing it only in Autumn surrounded by the sound of the rain and the colorful leaves!
One of my favorite things about Sweden is the winter and everything related to it: the snow, the coziness, and the transformation of the nature around me!
Could I end the post without mentioning Midsommar? In the picture, you can see the Midsommarstång where Swedes (and us too) dance around during the day. We have been very lucky with the weather but we were not used to the hot temperature and we didn’t have water and a cap with us. If you are coming to Sweden, don’t make the same mistake!
